Via new direct flights from both Rome and London to Santiago, the country will be able to increase the number of arrivals and strengthen national tourism, which registered 4.400.000 tourists in 2015.

Rome is the new entrance door of Chile to Europe, then that the Alitalia’s airline  opened a direct route from Rome to Santiago de Chile, offering five weekly flights on mondays, tuesdays, thursdays, saturdays and sundays.

This new route, open in May, has the capacity to transport 2.200 passengers on a weekly basis from the international airport of Santiago, to Fiumicino de Roma. From this airport, it’s then possible to connect to a further 50 destinations located across Italy, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.

In addition to this new route, from January next year British Airways will also be offering four direct, weekly flights between London and Santiago, scheduled for mondays, wednesdays, thursdays and saturdays. The new route will last 14 hours and 40 minutes.

Thanks to these changes, Chile will have like ports of entrance into Europe to Paris, Madrid, Rome and London, which could tempt more Europeans to visit and discover this prominent South American destination.
