Eco Adventures Itinerary in Tambopata - 3 days
Day 1
We will pick you up at the airport or Puerto Maldonado bus station upon your arrival and then travel by motor boat along the Madre de Dios River towards our Eco lodge Amazonian adventures. During the trip, among the lushly colored trees and plants, we will see the sites in their daily routines, rice and banana riparian crops, and many different species of birds, such as showy crowned herons, tuiuiús, and torches. Our Pousada, Eco Aventuras Amazônicas, offers bungalow accommodation based on double and triple rooms. The aim is to provide comfortable accommodation in harmony with the surrounding environment. Upon our arrival, there will be a brief introductory lecture about our work with the Cachuela community in a unique ecotourism project, as well as the overview of the inn and its trails. Let's start our activity with an ethno botanical walk along the accommodation's tracks, giant trees of the incalculable past past. The walk will allow you to get acquainted with the Amazonian plants and their traditional uses. We will make our way to an 80 meter observation tower overlooking the forest canopy. The suspension bridge, bordered with handrails and anchored by small platforms, offers us a spectacular view of the sub-canopy, which offers us the opportunity to observe colorful treetop birds such as toucans, parrots, parakeets and macaws. The jungle becomes even more mysterious as the sun goes down, as we go on a night tour that will introduce us to the nocturnal Amazon, whose sights and sounds include the noisy insects and owls and the musmuqui, the world's only nocturnal monkey.

We will spend the night in bungalow accommodation.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

Day 2
After an early breakfast, we will leave by motorboat upstream (in the direction of Puerto Maldonado) to the Tocopata reservation. After a walk of about an hour, we will reach Lake Sandoval, where we will see peculiar otters and birds, which are locally known as Shansho or Anhginga, which means snake duck. We will also be able to spot howler monkeys, spiders, monkeys and other monkeys. Let's explore the area by rowboat, the path includes a stunning waterfall. Let's rest on the beach at the moment, while enjoying a delicious lunch.

After lunch, we can refresh ourselves at the lake before beginning the journey back to the eco-inn lodge.

If you have energy after dinner, we'll have a wonderful bonfire under the majestic starry night.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 3
Let's wake up very early this day, at 4:15 in the morning, to visit the parrots along the river. At this early hour, when the forest begins to wake up, the journey itself is very magical. These are the walls along which hundreds of parrots and macaws (up to 7 different species) come together to feed on the clay, which contains minerals that allow birds the ability to detoxify any green fruit or seeds they have eaten. They also socialize and find partners in these places for mating. You can only watch this colorful show in the wee hours of the morning. The trip will last about 2 hours.

Then we will return to the inn to have a delicious breakfast before leaving on a return trip to Puerto Maldonado, where you will be dropped off at the airport, bus terminal, or your hotel in Puerto Maldonado or hostel.

Meals: breakfast.
