NATURE CULTURE MATSIGUENKA  MANU 5D/4N

DAY 1: CUSCO- BAMBU LODGE IN THE AMAZONIAN FOREST
In the morning I pick you up from your Hotel in Cusco at 6:00 a.m. in our all-terrain vehicle to travel through Andean mountains, beautiful landscapes, rural folk communities such as Paucartambo and Ninamarca (chullpas or burial tombs) that belong to the pre-Inca culture LUPACAS. Then we climb the last mountain to reach Acjanaco, entrance to the MANU NATIONAL PARK, from where we will descend to the lush cloud forest which houses a great variety of flora and fauna. Being an ideal place of epiphytes, orchids, broméelas, etc. At 3:00 p.m. We will walk through the cloud forest to appreciate the National Bird of Peru. The colorful Cock of the Rocks in their ritual mating dance, as well as toucans, trogons, quetzals, monkeys and hopefully the spectacled bear of South America (Tremantus ornatos). Overnight in our comfortable lodge.
Swimming and fishing in the rivers and using the hammocks in the lodges are free and safe for all our visitors.

 

 

DAY 2: BAMBU LODGE - ECOMANU LODGE
Early in the morning we wake up under the song of the birds and we will walk in the Amazon high forest, visiting agricultural plantations of coca, cassava, and other native products of the place. In the path to the tourist port of Atalaya we will observe a great variety of species of birds, families of monkeys; accompanied by spectacular waterfalls and then board our comfortable and equipped boat to begin descending the turbulent waters of the Madre de Dios high river.
At mid-afternoon we will have a 4 hour excursion into the tropical forest in search of birds, mammals, reptiles, medicinal plants and giant trees where the famous lianas hang where one can rock like a true Tarzan, an unforgettable experience! Then the naturalist guide will illustrate the behavior and interrelation that exists between the fauna and flora of the place.
The walks or nocturnal activities are possible every night, according to the disposition of time and the organization of our guides.

 

 

 

DAY 3: ECOMANU LODGE
Very early in the morning we embark in the direction of the small collpa (clay wall with mineral salts content) very important place, where many noisy parrots, parrots and small macaws or parrots ingest the clay as a final diet for detoxification. After this fantastic show we will enjoy our healthy breakfast prepared by our chef. Following our expedition in the Amazon we will go to an important lake or lagoon "Machuwasi" and with the help of a telescope we will observe a great variety of lake birds such as herons, hawks, ducks, hoatzins, orioles, capybara families (the most great in the world) and hopefully an impressed anaconda or boa. In the afternoon we will enjoy the tropical waters (swimming and fishing) and spend the night in our lodge.

 

 

 

DAY 4: ECOMANU LODGE - ATALAYA-ALDEA NATIVA SANTA ROSA DE HUACARIA
Early in the morning we will go to the tourist port of Atalaya on board our boat and from there in our private vehicle to the town of Pilcopata and to the village of Huacaria.

Day of guiding our gaze towards the indigenous Amazonian cultures of Manu. There are at least five indigenous Amazonian groups recognized in the Manu, each with its own language, forms of collection, hunting, fishing, religious rituals and ethnic medicine these groups have different degrees of contact with civilization.
Huacaria has two ethnic groups Matsiguenkas and Huachipaeris which have as a point of reference the town of Pilcopata, they are articulating to the market economy in terms of sustainable development through ecotourism. Overnight in camping stores C. N. Huacaria.

 

 

DAY 5: NATIVA SANTA ROSA DE HUACARIA VILLAGE - CUSCO
Very early we will pack our luggage and then we will enjoy a delicious typical breakfast in the village and we will appreciate the kind hospitality of the families, then we will board our vehicle back to San Pedro to appreciate once more the famous Cock of the Rocks and continuing our return to the ancient capital of the Incas Cusco, arriving at 17:00 pm approx.
