Red Stones Mystic Path

Located at 160 kilometers this tour will take you to the south of San Pedro de Atacama, passing through the Tropic of Capricorn and entering the Chilean highlands. The first stop will be in Socaire, a small historic town where you can visit an old church and learn a little about its terraced plantations. Here we will have breakfast, to continue our journey to the Altiplanic Lagoons, then we will visit Piedras Rojas. Once there you can discover an unexpected landscape, an area surrounded by red stones, due to the oxidation of iron in the area. Facing that, the Salar de Aguas Calientes, with a wonderful turquoise lagoon, creating an impressive contrast of colors. Upon returning, we will stop again in Socaire, to have lunch in a restaurant.

On the way back we will enter the Salar de Atacama until we reach the Chaxa Lagoon where we can enjoy a pleasant walk through the interior of the Salar accompanied by the beautiful flamingos. Before reaching San Pedro we will visit the town of Toconao to visit the famous church of San Lucas.

    Schedule: Full day 7:00 - 18:00.
    Height: 4,300 meters.
    Acclimatization: 2 nights.
    Includes: Pick up at the hotel, shared transportation and guide. Breakfast and lunch in restaurant.
    Not Included: CLP $ 5,500 entrance ticket.
    What to bring: Take water, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses and warm clothing.
    Restrictions: Not suitable for people with problems caused by altitude.
