DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1

CUSCO – KM 82 – WAYLLABAMBA

🚐 + 🥾 + ⛰

04:30 hrs – Hotel Pickup

Our Madre Tierra Travel team will pick up passengers directly from their hotels in Cusco.

We will head toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas until reaching Km 82, the official starting point of the Inca Trail.


Inca Trail Entrance Control

Presentation of the original passport and entrance to the official trail.


Beginning of the Trek

We will begin the hike crossing Andean landscapes and small local communities.

During the route:

• View of the Llactapata archaeological site
• The Urubamba River accompanying the trail
• Andean flora and sacred mountains
• First contact with Inca engineering


Lunch in the Middle of Nature

Lunch prepared by the trekking cooking team.


Continue to Wayllabamba

Arrival at the first campsite surrounded by mountains and nature.

Overnight in Wayllabamba

DAY 2

WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA PASS – PACAYMAYO

Early Breakfast

Beginning of the most challenging day of the trek.


Ascent to Warmiwañusca Pass

Known as the “Dead Woman’s Pass,” it is the highest point of the Inca Trail.

📍 Altitude: 4,215 m.a.s.l.

Highlights:

• Spectacular Andean landscapes
• Rewarding physical challenge
• Panoramic mountain views
• Spiritual connection with nature

📸 One of the most impressive points of the route.


Lunch on the Trail

Break to rest and enjoy lunch.


Descent to Pacaymayo

Descent through trails surrounded by Andean vegetation and cloud forest.

Overnight in Pacaymayo

DAY 3

PACAYMAYO – WIÑAY WAYNA

Considered the most beautiful day of the Inca Trail.


Visit to Archaeological Sites

During the hike, we will visit several important Inca archaeological centers.

Highlights:

• Runkurakay
• Sayacmarca
• Phuyupatamarca
• Original Inca pathways
• Cloud forest and lush vegetation

Your guide will share stories and knowledge about the Inca civilization.


Lunch Along the Route

Lunch surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.


Arrival at Wiñay Wayna

Visit the incredible archaeological complex of Wiñay Wayna, one of the most important sites on the Inca Trail.

Here you will discover:

• Agricultural terraces
• Ceremonial temples and fountains
• Well-preserved Inca constructions

DAY 4

WIÑAY WAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Early Morning – Hike to the Sun Gate

Very early departure to reach Inti Punku (Sun Gate) at sunrise.


First View of Machu Picchu

An unforgettable moment as Machu Picchu appears between the mountains.

📸 A unique and emotional experience.


Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

Explore one of the Seven Wonders of the World accompanied by a professional guide.

During the tour you will visit:

• Temple of the Sun
• Intihuatana
• Sacred Plaza
• Temple of the Condor
• Agricultural and urban sectors
• History and mysteries of the Inca citadel

Free Time

After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore and take photographs.

Descent to Aguas Calientes to board the tourist train.
